Hey, Benzinga Cannabis Community. Maureen Meehan here, bringing you today’s biggest cannabis stories with a fun and relaxed twist. From celebrating the women shaping our industry to legislative shake-ups, market shifts and some news from Amsterdam.

And Happy First Day of Spring! 🌸☀️

Let’s roll into today’s top news.

Women have been at the forefront of the cannabis movement since day one—challenging outdated laws, fighting stigma and shaping the industry as we know it.

From ancient healers to modern activists like Mary Jane “Brownie Mary” Rathbun—who famously baked cannabis brownies for AIDS patients—women have played crucial roles in advocating for legalization. Their determination has changed laws, opened businesses and created a thriving industry. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let’s salute the pioneers and the next generation of women redefining cannabis!

🏛️ Policy & Legislation Updates

Say aloha to broader access! Hawaii’s Senate committees just passed a bill that would allow doctors to recommend cannabis for any condition they deem fit—no more restrictive lists. This could significantly expand patient access and put the state ahead in medical cannabis reform.

⏳ Not so fast, Delaware! The state’s highly anticipated recreational cannabis market might get delayed over an FBI fingerprinting hiccup. Regulators aimed to license businesses by April, but bureaucratic hurdles could push back launch plans.

Georgia's medical cannabis program might be getting an upgrade. Lawmakers are considering raising allowable THC levels while also tightening regulations on intoxicating hemp products. This could mean more effective treatment options for patients.

🌎 International Developments

🇳🇱 Netherlands to Launch Legal Cannabis Sales Experiment

The Netherlands is shaking up its cannabis scene. Starting April 7, ten cities will test legal cannabis sales with government-approved suppliers. The goal? Reduce reliance on illicit markets and refine national cannabis policy. However, some coffee shops say they’re not quite ready.

🍁 Canadian Companies Look Overseas

🚢 With Canada’s cannabis market getting a little too crowded, companies are turning abroad. Exports to Germany doubled in 2024, highlighting the growing demand for medical cannabis in Europe. But experts warn that breaking into international markets isn’t as easy as it seems.

📈 Market Movements

💰 Auxly’s Financial Turnaround Shows Robust Growth

Canadian cannabis producer Auxly Cannabis Group Inc. (TSX: XLY) (OTC: CBWTF) is back in the green, financially speaking. The company reported a 21% revenue increase in 2024, with its Back Forty brand emerging as Canada’s top cannabis brand.

It’s been a rough ride for TILT Holdings (OTC: TLLTF) as the company pivots toward its Jupiter hardware division. With revenues down and net losses up, the company is focusing on restructuring to stay competitive in 2025.

In a groundbreaking ruling, a federal judge in Utah ordered law enforcement to return psilocybin mushrooms seized from a religious group. This case could set a precedent for how religious freedom laws intersect with psychedelic policies.

That’s it for today, folks! Stay lifted, stay informed and I’ll catch you tomorrow in Friday’s edition of Cannabis Daily! 🌱💚
