Briefly: The Las Vegas-based cannabis giant Planet 13 Holdings is a step closer to a major expansion in Florida.

What Happened: The Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use gave the green light to Planet 13 for the proposed sale of Planet 13 Florida and the acquisition of VidaCann the company announced yesterday.

Why It Matters: “Acquiring VidaCann would significantly accelerate our time to market and, more importantly, scale in Florida. VidaCann is one of the ten largest Florida cannabis operators by retail network size, and we believe it has developed a reputation for high product quality and customer service,” Larry Scheffler, the company’s CEO said.
