Nominate A Cannabis Leader For The 2024 “Bob Fireman Award”

The prestigious Bob Fireman Award for Entrepreneurship will be presented once again at the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Chicago on October 8-9, 2024. This award, created to honor the legacy of MariMed's late co-founder and CEO, Robert “Bob” Fireman aims to recognize cannabis executives who embody Bob's passion, drive and commitment to cannabis advocacy.

Bob Fireman, a pioneering figure in the legal cannabis industry, entered the field in 2008 alongside his best friend and current CEO of MariMed, Jon Levine. His vision and dedication laid the foundation for MariMed's mission to improve lives through cannabis. Bob was known for his integrity, wit and unwavering commitment to the cannabis community.

The award will be presented to an individual who exemplifies Bob’s core values, which include:

• Keeping promises and commitments

• Fostering a company culture based on trust, collaboration, hard work and fun

• Representing the cannabis community with excellence

Inaugurated in 2023, the first award was presented to Shanel Lindsay of Ardent Nova, who was recognized for her pioneering work in cannabis advocacy and product innovation. This year, the nomination process is open until August 23, and we’re inviting entries from across the industry.

The winner will be announced during the conference, adding a highlight to the event that draws attention to the continuing legacy of Bob Fireman. Jon Levine, reflecting on Bob's impact, noted, “Bob always worked hard as a business leader, attorney, and advocate for our industry.
