Happy Friday! We hope you have a fabulous weekend and before you go we'd like to share some cannabis news you may have missed during these past several wintery, busy and certainly transitional days. We also want to let you know that next Tuesday’s Cannabis Newsletter will be coming to your in-boxes on Wednesday as we will be honoring Martin Luther King Jr. as a federal holiday on Monday Jan. 20.
In today's issue:
Cannabis Takes Its Place In The Halls Of Congress
Beginning with consolidation, two leading cannabis advocacy groups, the National Cannabis Roundtable and U.S. Cannabis Council are joining forces to represent pretty much all aspects of the cannabis industry and community in an effort to push reform forward in the new Congress and administration of President-elect Donald Trump.
"This is a pivotal time for the regulated cannabis industry with a newly elected Congress and an incoming president who has publicly supported and pledged to advance commonsense cannabis reform," said Charlie Bachtell, CEO of Cresco Labs Inc, who is chairperson of both NCR and USCC.
A New Approach To Cannabis Medicine
The Cannabis Knowledge Graph, created by Kanavos Inc in partnership with Graphwise, is aimed at providing patients and healthcare providers with accessible, evidence-based insights into cannabinoid therapies, according to Javier Hasse’s exclusive interview with Kanavos’ chief knowledge officer, Dr. Deborah McGuinness.
"By combining our deep domain expertise with Graphwise's leading-edge technology, we are empowering individuals with the knowledge and insights they need to make informed healthcare decisions," McGuinness said. How does it work? Read more here.
To Mars And Back With Cannabis Robots
In another fascinating exclusive interview, Javier Hasse tells the story of two groundbreaking machines: the Jiko Robot and the Stardust system.
The Jiko Robot is designed for live resin-infused joints by automating the precise injection of concentrates into pre-rolls, ensuring uniformity and scalability, essential for cannabis operators looking to meet growing consumer demand. The Stardust system addresses the labor-intensive task of kief-coating pre-rolls, a product category popularized by brands like Jeeter.
Get the details on these innovative machines and meet Nohtal Partansky, the aerospace engineer who worked on a NASA project, which is currently on Mars producing oxygen from its atmosphere. He is also the founder of Sorting Robotics.
